The Southwest Middle School Singers are a dynamic group of girls with lots of heart. The chorus consists of twenty eight seventh and eighth grade girls who show dedication, ability, and class; they met before school every day. They perform all around Orlando Florida include children’s hospitals, nursing homes, theme parks and community events. This ensemble has consistently received superior ratings in choral and special category at district music performance assessments.
Rebecca G. Hammac
Southwest Middle School (Orange)
Rebecca Gregorio Hammac directed choral and orchestral studies at Neptune Middle School in Osceola County for 2 year before becoming the choral director at Southwest Middle School. Mrs. Hammac’s choruses have received strait superior ratings at FVA Choral MPA for the past 7 years. She is also the recipient of the FMEA Emerging Leader Award for 2006-2009. Mrs. Hammac is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, School of Music. She is an active member of FMEA, MENC, FVA, and ACDA. She is the past FVA district 8 chair and FVA clinic-chair and is an active clinician, adjudicator and conductor.
