Young Composers Challenge
Students interested in music composition for acoustic instruments will benefit from participation in the National Young Composers Challenge FREE Workshop on March 3, 2012. The program leads to the Young Composers Challenge... in which winning student compositions are performed (and workshopped) by the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra.
June M. Hinckley Scholarship
FMEA is soliciting scholarship
applications for the 2012 June M. Hinckley Music Education Scholarship. The Foundation will award $1000.00
scholarships to select 2011-2012 graduating high school students participating in a Florida All-State ensemble
and who intend to major in music education at a Florida college or university.

Nominate an outstanding young music teacher in your area for the EMERGING LEADERS program. Emerging Leaders is a NAfME program that identifies outstanding music educators who demonstrate exemplary teaching, in some way, during their first decade of service.
Call for Presenters
The International Society for Music Education will hold its biennial conference in Thessaloniki, Greece July 15th-20th. The Commission for Special Music Education, Music Therapy, and Music Medicine will hold its meetings just prior to the general conference, July 12th-14th, also in Thessaloniki.
