FMEA is a not-for-profit, professional association that serves and supports music educators across Florida. FMEA promotes and publishes the Florida Music Director as well as music education research, organizes in-service programs, and broadens teachers’ knowledge and interest in their profession through affiliation with colleagues. Membership in FMEA is open to music instructors from Pre-K level through college, including music supervisors.
FMEA membership is required in order for the educator’s students to participate in the All-State Conference, which includes the All-State Bands, Choruses and Orchestras.

The Associate Membership for Individuals is for private music teachers or individuals not currently teaching who wish to belong to FMEA and would like to attend the conference, receive the Florida Music Director, and legislative information and alerts throughout the year. This membership does not provide voting privileges or access to the All-State audition process.
The Associate Membership for Organizations is for booster groups, community music groups (bands, orchestras, choruses, etc) who wish to join FMEA. This membership will allow two (2) designees to receive the Florida Music Director, to register for the FMEA Conference, and to receive legislative information and alerts. Organizations under this membership also receive discounts for FMD advertising and for exhibition at the conference.
The Florida Music Industry Council designated representatives receive the Florida Music Director; $25.00 discount on a single booth space or $50 for multiple booth spaces at the annual conference; special recognition badge on booth at conference; special recognition ribbon on name badge at conference; recognized in conference program; special recognition on advertising placed in the Florida Music Director.
