Guitar All-State:

2012 Audition Material and Information

2012 All-State Information

On-Line All-State Registration is done through the MPA-Online system.  Before you register, watch this video that shows you how to do it.

Even though the Guitar All-State Auditions are held in conjunction with the Orchestra auditions, Guitar teachers do not need to be a member of FOA if they do not teach orchestra.  You do, however, need to be a member of FMEA.

For hotel reservation/travel planning purposes, the 2012 Guitar All-State event schedule summary is as follows:  

• Tuesday January 10, students arrive afternoon/evening, rehearsal from 7-9pm (location TBA); 
• Wednesday January 11, students rehearse all day (location TBA); 
• Thursday January 12, students rehearse in the morning, perform 10:15am-ish at the General Session, then play the formal concert around noon, students are released around 1:00 or 1:30pm, at the conclusion of the concert.

Steel Band Festival 2012:

Purpose: to provide steel band students and directors a positive performance outlet and motivating goal, to share ensemble literature amongst teachers, to create an event that allows teachers to become more knowledgeable in their craft through clinician contact time, all to ultimately advance the experience of steel band students throughout the State of Florida.
