These are the audition requirements for the 2010-2011 school year, for the auditions that will be held September 2010, and All-State Ensembles that will perform in January 2011.  Check back often in case there are corrections or changes to the audition requirements.  The etude books are available at your local music store.  Questions about the requirements, auditions, or audition dates and times should be directed to your band director.

May 13, 2010:

• 7-8 Oboe: 
  NEW EXERCISE Lyrical Exercise: pg. 21 #3, all, top line, no repeats, eighth=120. (NOT: Lyrical Exercise: page 22, #4; Meas. 1- 24; top; no repeats; quarter note = 92)
• 9-10 Bass Clarinet:
  Lyric exer. page 32, #10, Dotted Quarter note = 60 (not quarter=60)
  Tech. exer. page 50, #3, Quarter note = 96 (not dotted quarter=96)
   

July 29, 2010:

• 7-8 Horn:
  The lyrical exercise has a misprint: In measure 19, the last note of the measure is printed as a tied Bb eighth note.  This last eighth note is actually supposed to be a C one step higher (same rhythm).  If the student wishes to play it with the C they may.  If they have been practicing it with the Bb and wish not to change it that will be fine as well.  The person judging the middle school horns will be instructed to judge both as correct. 

August 2, 2010:

• Jazz Piano:
  Ex.1 (The Swing Etude) had the incorrect number.  It should be pg 80 #5.
