UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Comments about auditions? - None made.
2. F.B.A. Marching Festival: Thanks again to Mr. Jack Hart for hosting as well as to Mr. Doug Yopp for announcing. Chairman Allen thanked all the Middle School directors who worked the gate at the marching festival.
3. A number of high school directors complained that their auxiliary tape was blank.
4. The directors working the gate made note that more $1 bills are needed at the gate to make change for tickets.
5. Directors need to make sure that their band parents are aware of admission prices.
6. Mr. Coney mentioned including a middle school performance at the marching festival to encourage more attendance; possibly for National Anthem.
7. Chairman Allen urged all high school directors to turn in Adjudicator Evaluation Forms to Bentley Shellahammer.
8. Chairman Allen encouraged all members to attend the F.M.E.A. Convention on January 10-12, 2002 in Tampa, FL. More information can be obtained on the FMEA web site at http://www.flmusiced.org or the Florida Music Director.
9. Classification Proposal: Chairman Allen went over all the proposals. The District began an in-depth discussion about each.
 Proposal I - Concerns about adjudication requirements; "significant literature" grade III requirement for state qualification - restricts choice of director, all music on F.B.A. list should be quality literature; Positive notes were made about elimination of reclassification and the requirement that school population determines the grade of music a band must play at festival. DISTIRCT 19 VOTES TO ENDORSE PROPOSAL I.
 Proposal II - DISTRICT 19 VOTES TO ENDORSE PROPOSAL II.
 Proposal III - DISTRICT 19 UNANIMOUSLY VOTES TO OPPOSE PROPOSAL III.
 Proposal IV - DISTRICT 19 VOTES TO ENDORSE PROPOSAL IV.
 Proposal V - Many concerns were discussed concerning the elimination of the Small Schools Honors Band. An idea was mentioned to continue to have Small Schools and have it remain based on enrollment with that information added to the nomination form.
