Dorothy Land Past President's Grant


 
 FEMEA is pleased to offer a grant in the amount of $1000 on a competitive basis to an elementary music teacher who is a member of FEMEA. The purpose is to encourage teachers to develop projects that promote research, creative teaching and innovation, and exemplary models of teaching in the elementary music classroom.
Grant Policies
• Grant funds will be used from January through January.
• Grant money should not be used to purchase everyday supplies normally included in the regular school budget.
• Requests for equipment will not be granted unless the equipment is for the project activities.     
• Applicants must be current members of FEMEA by September 30 of the application year.
• The project must have the approval of the school principal or authorized school district staff person.

The grant recipient agrees to:
1.  Author an article to include a 200 word abstract, or summary, to be submitted for possible publication in the "Florida Music Director" magazine. Black and white copy- ready photos are encouraged with faces appearing no smaller than a dime.
2.  Submit a financial statement or project expenditures with receipts included to the FEMEA Executive Director by June 30 of the award year.
3.  Display a project board at the Curriculum Fair during the next FMEA Clinc/Conference.
4.  Permit FEMEA to publish the project and distribute it to FEMEA members, if desired.

Application Process
      1.  Download the Grant Application
      2.  Complete one original application.
      3.  Make seven additional copies of the original application.
      4.  Mail the original application and seven copies to the FEMEA grant chair.
