The Lakeview Middle School Advanced Handbells ensemble has been part of the Tradition of Excellence in the arts community of Winter Garden since 1984. The group consists of seventh and eighth grade students who perform regularly in local concerts and state festivals. Lakeview Middle School is the only school in Orange County with a thriving handbell program. Lakeview’s handbell students are well known and highly respected in their school and community.

Chorus & Handbells Director
Megan Szkarlat earned the B.M.E. from Eastern Michigan University in 2009. She has been serving as chorus and handbells director at Lakeview Middle School for six years and as performing arts department head for three years. Her students have performed in seasonal concerts, honor choirs, district and state festivals, and at community events. Ms. Szkarlat is an active member of FMEA, FVA, ACDA, NAfME and Handbell Musicians of America. She performs as a soprano with the Garden Community Choir.
