Beautiful artistic singing begins with our youngest students in an elementary school. One of the main goals is to help our little ones develop their head voices. Come in to learn some fun strategies to help your primary students obtain that sound in some crazy ways!

Karen Stafford 

South Point Elementary, School District of Washington
elementary music specialist

Karen Stafford is an elementary music specialist who teaches K-6 in the Washington MO school district. At the time of this application, she is completing her PhD at the University of Kansas, focusing on general music. At Washington, Karen directs two Orff Ensembles and has also directed children's choirs and recorder consorts, as well as serving as the high school theater music director. She runs a Teacher Pays Teacher store called Stafford's Musical Cures.
Karen's professional affiliations include Missouri Music Educators Association (past general music vice president and past elementary music vice president), American Orff Schulwerk Association (past chair of the advocacy subcommittee), St. Louis AOSA Chapter (past secretary and college credit facilitator), Organization of American Kodaly Educators, American Recorder Society, International Society for Music Education, and the National Education Association.
