ITEM NO.7. – COMMITTEE REPORTS

District 10 committee to hire next years combined M.S./H.S. joint festival assessment encouraged members to give suggestions for adjudicator’s. If you have any suggestions please e-mail Jim Matthews, Mike Waller, Mark Nelson, David Ammerman (committee members).

This committee was urged to begin work on this panel of adjudicator’s a.s.a.p.

ITEM NO.9. – SELECT ADJUDICATORS FOR FOLLOWING YEAR

As stated above in item no. 7

ITEM NO.10. – SOLICIT LETTER FOR SITES FOR FOLLOWING YEAR

Motion: Nelson/Sullivan - All-State Auditions September 14, 2002 at Eau Gallie H.S. PASSED

Motion: Brezette/Singletary – Marching Festival to be held on October 26, 2002 at Palm Bay H.S. PASSED

Motion: Strang/Waller – Solo & Ensemble Festival to be held on February 14-15, 2003 at Satellite H.S. PASSED

Motion: Waller/Harris – Concert Assessment to be held at Satellite H.S. on March 5-8, 2003. PASSED

Much discussion took place to consider having a split site in Osceola County for concert assessment. In the final analysis the consensus was to have one festival site at Satellite H.S. whether it was by feeder chains, or by M.S./H.S on the voted dates.

Discussion also took place for the district chairman to provide a microphone to the auxiliary judge in order to have the opportunity to speak with the performers after the performance in addition to providing a cassette tape for comments. The district chairman agreed that this would take place next year. Also discussed was having one of the adjudicators approach the middle school bands to make immediate comments after performance. All of the present members were in agreement on the outcomes of the above discussions.

Ian Schwindt agreed to prepare some tentative schedules for a combined concert assessment festival to be presented at one of the first district meetings next year.

Motion: Nelson/Sullivan – To amend the previous meeting date to be held on Wednesday August 21, 2002 instead. PASSED
