CALL TO ORDER AND INTRODUCTORY REMARKS The meeting of the Florida Bandmasters Association District 13 was called to order at 6:15 p.m. by Chairman Bill Lindner in the band room of Okeechobee High School.

READING OF PREVIOUS MINUTES Motion:Hagar/Macgallagher to accept the minutes. Passed

TREASURERS REPORT a)Current Status of District Funds READING OF COMMUNICATIONS Moore Haven High School wishes tp participate in another district's festival due to conflicts. Motion:Lebon/McGallagher to allow Moore Haven to perform out of district. Passed

UNFINISHED BUSINESS 

a)Reaction to Board & General Meeting Minutes -none 

b)Check on Status of Mentoring Program - no concerns 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

NEW BUSINESS

a)Collect S and E/Concert Band entries.(Computer disk and hard copy) 

b) S and E information update. -Cost for the district to have Jazz Band recordings is $200.00 Motion: Crocco/Hagar That the district apy for half of the recording fees and the participating directors pay for the other half. Passed -Pianos for the festival will all be acoustic. -Title changes to the district chairman by Jan. 22nd. 

c) Recording of HS and MS Performance Evaluations -Motion: Crocco/Hagar to leave the High School recordings to the discretion of the District Chairman. 

d) Concert Performance Evaluation dates -High School is March 1-2, 2002 at South Florida Community College -Middle School is March 15-16, 2002 at Sebastian River High School. *Title changes for the High School festival are due in the chairman's hands before February 19th. **Title Changes for the Middle school evaluation must be in the hands of the district chairman by March 5th. STATE FESTIVAL DATES AND SITES Solo/Ensemble -Date: April 1-3,200 Site: Bartram trails High School in Jacksonville South Concert Evaluation -Date: April 24-27,2002. Site: Cypress Lakes Center for the Arts in Fort Meyers *Contact Duane Hendon if you have not received a State Entry Bulletin by early March.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS Tamyra DiFruscio nominated by Lebon/Hagar for District Chairman Motion: Roadman/Allen to accept the nominee by acclamation. Passed 

Joanne Kinder nominated by Plack/Lebon for District Secretary Motion: MacGallagher/Lebon to accept the nominee by acclamation. Passed 

SELECTION OF DISTRICT FESTIVAL DATES FOR NEXT YEAR Motion: Roadman/MacGallagher to accept traditional dates. Passed

November 2,2002 -Marching Perfromance Evalaution 

February 7-8, 2003 Solo and Ensemble Evaluations March 7-8, 2003 

High School Evaluation Motion: Crocco/Lebon to have March 14-15, 2003 as a second choice. Passed March 21-22, 2003 Middle School Evaluation. Motion: Lebon/ Kinder to have March 14-15, 2003 as a second choice. Passed
