$3633 Marching Festival Gate, All State Expenses approx. $4000, $500 to open new account.

New District Secretary – Paul Destito Miller/Rogin, Secret Ballot- Passed

FMEA Clinic –Encourage Attendance, TDE discussion ensued

Marching Festival recap – Thanks to Evan

All State recap – Be careful of what you say in audition room

Item #7) Committee Reports:

S&E Judges- Most from last year

Item #8) New Business:

S&E- Feb 7-9

Jazz bands 7^th

Guard 8&9

Motion (Miller/Martinadale)- Give the district chairman discretion to have or not have Guard evaluation at S&E. This decision should be based on participation vs cost to the district. (passed)

Discussion- Guard event participation is low, creating a problem with covering expenses for judges. Encourage more guard programs. Give the chairman more latitude in scheduling/not scheduling guard events.

Festival Disk-Due at 1/15/02 meeting with signed forms and check from Principal

Concert Festival- 2/27-3/2 at Lake Worth High School. Bands will be blocked by High School/feeder program to promote articulation.

Dissatisfaction with recording companies ensued.

Motion (Shane/Patsis) Vendors should provide a complimentary copy of festival recording to each school. (passes) L. Shane will research options.

Discussion ensued regarding music selection criteria. All suggestions to the music committee should be submitted to Wayne Miller by 11/16/01
