Announcements, Etc

  1. Thank you to the schools and administration that hosted FBA events this year:
  2. Silver Trail MS – Edgar Rubio for All-State auditions and MS S&E South

Nova HS – Jamie Roth for HS Jazz

Taravella HS – Neil Jenkins and Nikk Pilato for HS S&E, HS Concert and MS Concert

Stranahan – Israel Charles for MS Jazz

Ramblewood MS – John Nista for MS S&E North

  3. Gratitude and thanks to the student volunteers that worked for the past 3 years as FBA volunteers for all events: Cory Chartan, Kira Bokalder, Stephanie Alger, Stephanie Bates, and Melissa McClain. Thank you to Sarah Wiggin from Hollywood Hills for working all events this year.
  4. Get your Festival Entry Disks, get the downloads, and learn how to make your entry disks on floppy to turn in to your chairman. Errors, late and faulty disks caused delays in running the scheduler for S&E. Please follow the procedures, check your work, and be on time.

Unfinished Business

  1. 13 adjudicator evaluation forms from 4 different schools have been turned in. We need feedback to help improve the assessment process. There was much discussion concerning the harshness of some MS S&E judges.
  2. Confirm dates and locations for next year’s events.

Motion: Cole/Parsons to hold the Marching Band Performance Assessment on November 2nd, at Deerfield Beach High School. PASSED.

Motion: Morton/Cole to hold Middle School Concert Performance Assessment on April 2-5. PASSED. Site will be Taravella High School

  1. The membership discussed the proposed State Festival revision concerning replacing the sight-reading component with a clinic for each band. The membership is in favor of this idea.
