1. Call to Order
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Jose Lopez at 7:00 PM.

3. Reading of Previous Minutes
MOTION: (Figeac/Dahlberg) To dispense with the reading of the previous meeting minutes.
4. Treasury Report

5. Announcements
Resignation of District Chairperson
Resignation of District Secretary
The membership elected William Reaney by unanimous vote to serve as District Chairperson.
The membership elected Linda Reaney by unanimous vote to serve as District Secretary.
6. Unfinished Business
1. Mr. Lopez discussed the importance of directors completing the adjudicator evaluation forms.
2. The membership discussed the proposal being explored by the Executive Board to replace sight-reading at State Festival with critique sessions by adjudicators. The membership agreed that this proposal was valid and to support the issue.
3. Mrs. Reaney talked about the requested “classification system” being discussed at the state level. District 18 is in favor of the proposal as it was explained.
7. Committee Reports
1. Upgrade of recording equipment for All-State Auditions: (Dahlberg/Figeac) Sarah St. John and Eric Metzner will research the cost of renting recording equipment for All-State auditions next year and present findings at the fall meeting. MOTION:PASSED
2. District purchase of plaques for district level festivals: (Reaney/Reaney) District refrain from ordering these plaques due to cost. MOTION PASSED
3. Concert Festival Photography: (Dahlberg/Metzner) To request that Walters Photography do “Cat Walk” Concert Photo of participating ensembles at District Concert Festivals. MOTION PASSED
8. New Business
1. Election of District Chairperson:
The membership elected William Reaney by unanimous vote to serve as District Chairperson.
2. Election of District Secretary:
The membership elected Linda Reaney by unanimous vote to serve as District Secretary.

13. Proposals to the Executive Board
A. Summer Convention – (Edwards/Figeac) Consider relocating summer convention back to Ocala area. Rational: Better attendance at convention sessions and larger exhibit area.
14. Good of the Association
A. The membership thanked Lehigh Senior High for the meeting goodies.
B. The next district Meeting will take place on August 24, 2003 at 10:00 AM at Gulfcoast High School.
