Item 3 - Minutes
- Reading of previous minutes
- Hannah/Hooten accept the minutes as printed.
Item 4 Treasurers Report
- Gate receipts were 7066.00
- Proposed current year budget.
Item 5 Unfinished Business
- Thanks to Choctaw for hosting the auditions
- Thanks to Choctaw for hosting the District Marching Festivals
- Reminder to Pre-register for FMEA Convention. Double check your entries
Item 6 New Business
- Solo/Ensemble Festival Fri/Sat. Feb 22-23, Baker High School
- Entry forms/Festivals scheduling disc training session at the next meeting in January. All problems will be solved at this time. Entry forms will be due January 26th.
- High School will be on Friday, Middle School on Saturday
- Jazz Festival March 1-2 Friday/Saturday
- Scheduling will be done by Classification unless a request is made.
- High School Concert Festival will be held on March 15-16 at Fort Walton Beach H.S.
- Middle School Concert Festival will be held on March 21-22 at Bailey Middle School and Fort Walton Beach HS
- Selection of Audio Contract for festivals: Vestige Audio Mobile
- Election of New District Secretary. Randy Nelson has obligations that will keep him from being District Chairman next year. It is in the best interest of the district to elect a new secretary at this time, in order for that person to train for next year. Gray Weaver was selected by unanimous vote of the membership by secret ballot.
Item 7 State Festival Dates and Sites
- South: April 24-27, 2002 at Cypress Lake Center for the Arts
- Central: April 29-30, May 1-2, 2002 at Florida Southern College
- North: April 30-May 3, 2002 at Florida A&M University
Item 8 Nominations for Adjudicators
- Dan Wooten by Eddie Steadman/Hooten
- Susan Smithey by Jim Knight/Hannah
Accepted by secret ballot
Item 9 Suggestions to the E-Board
- Clarification on music classifications discussed.
Item 10 Good of the Association
- Thanks to the Tate Band Parents for the food
- Master Class November 1, 2001 at PJC
- Jazz Festival at PJC will be held April 12, 2002
- Jody Dunn informed the membership that Wayne Whitman is at home resting from cardio and diabetes problems. Surgery is almost a certainty. A call or card would be appropriate.
- November 14th is the annual meeting of the Gulf Coast Color Guard and Percussion Circuit.
Item 11 Next District Meeting
- January 16, 2002 6:00 pm at Choctawhatchee High School. Meeting will be held at the Cayo Grande Suites Magnolia Room.
