FBA District 2
Everitt Middle School 2nd Meeting November 5, 2001
ITEM #1 Call to Order The meeting was called to order by Richard Davenport, District Chairman. Richard took this opportunity to thank Robin Downs, band director at Everitt Middle School, and the band booster for the wonderful meal provided for the directors.

ITEM #3 Reading of Previous Minutes Minutes of the previous meeting were mailed to the membership and posted on the FBA web site. There were no corrections or additions to the minutes.
ITEM #4 Financial Report A copy of the financial report was attached to the minutes and needed no revision. It was noted that the report didn’t include income from marching festival which will add $3,320.00 to the total.
ITEM #5 Communications There were no communications.
ITEM #6 Unfinished Business
- Comments on All-State auditions results posted on www.flmusiced.org/fba/index.htm)
- Comments on Marching Festival (warm up length? 2 areas ok? Suggestions?)
There was little discussion about Marching Festival. Things ran fairly smooth with little conflicts.
Nov. 30, Dec. 1, 2001 FSU, Tallahassee (in conjunction with the Tri-State Band Festival)
Friday 9:00am through Saturday 6:00pm.
Jan. 9, 2002 Tampa Bay Convention Center, Tampa (all day schedule 9am-9pm)
A lengthy discussion was held on the Classification Proposal and members of the district
agreed to go through the proposal item by item and report items of concern to the Distriict Chair
and in turn he will report to the Board.

ITEM #8 New Business
- February 8 & 9, District 2 Solo & Ensemble MPA, BCF, Graceville
- December 14, District Solo & Ensemble Count Form Due to Richard Davenport
- January 22, Items Due at District Meeting or mailed to chairman:
- Solo & Ensemble/Concert Festival Entry Disk
- S&E/Concert/Assessment Forms (printed hard copies from Disk)
- Assessment (Checks payable to FBA District 2 – rate will be in Dec. FBA Bulletin)
- Please adhere to all entry deadlines to avoid late fee penalties!
- $50 after deadline, $100 after the 7th day!
- Adjudicators secured so far: J. Knight, T. Fitzpatrick, E. Steadman, R. DeLaFuente, E. Hebson, C. Franks, R. Smith, James Smith, W. Whitman
- FESTIVAL program review:
- Schedule by accompanists, please spell correctly
- Type in your concert roster first; makes S&E entry easier!
B. District 2 Concert Band Music Performance Assessment
- North Site: Chipley High School, Chipley, Thursday, March 14
- South Site: Gulf Coast CC, Panama City March 15 (& 16)
There is a possibility that the dates of at this site will be changed to March
- Adjudicators contracted so far: E. Hebson
- Playground Music has offered to print programs.
- Suggestions for recording engineers?
Neil Gray will contact and report back to The District Chair.
