The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Amy Beres at 6:30P.M. in the Buchholz Band room. Those in attendance: Leslie Kushner, |Michael Williams, Paula Thornton, Vicki Nolan, Kelley Dorsey, Gerry Poe,

Treasurers Report                         Williams: $14,202.61 current balance. The 2003 budget should be about the same with
                                                            the exception of the amount allotted for custodial. This needs to be raised. Assessments 
                                                should be @$2.00 next year. We would like to thank Mike Williams for all his hard 
                                                            work  the past 4 years as treasurer. We need a volunteer for the position. Let Amy or
                                                            me know if you are interested.
Communications                Banner year for our district with Bands performances at various events. Good-job.

Unfinished Business        
A.     Comments on District S&E Performance Assessment: We would like to thank  Gerry Poe & Kanapaha for a well-run site. Please post the ratings at a space other than in front of the FBA office.
B.     Comments on District Concert Performance Assessment: Thank-you to Kelly Dorsey & Bell; Mary Ann Sickon & Gainesville High for hosting. Suggestion by Poe to have an adult at least the first day of  sightreading to ensure proper music passed out, etc. Remember to support the booster concessions at the site events. Suggestion for August meeting – have a help- session on how to do things in our district for the coming year’s events.
C.     Comments on State S&E Performance Assessment:  none.
D.     Comments on State Concert Band Performance Assessment:  see proposals to the board

Adjudicators for Next Year’s Festivals 
District Marching Festival:    No judges procured for Marching at this time.
Jazz Festival:  We need one judge 
High School Concert Festival:  We need three judges
Middle School Concert Festival:  We need two judges
District S&E Festival:   We have 13.  Need to have judges that are certified. Suggestions for judges: Randy Sontag,
                                                Shelby Chipman, Randy Kile
Selection of Festival Sites for Next School Year 
To have District Marching Performance at Columbia High School, Lake City, on October 26, 2002.
Motion passed. 
It was suggested that the University of Florida Gator Band, The UCF Marching Band or the FSU Chiefs should be asked  to perform in exhibition at District Marching Performance  Assessment.
