ITEM NO. 1 CALL TO ORDER AND INTRODUCTORY REMARKS Chairman Henry called the meeting to order at 7:02 pm. Meeting began with a tour of the Theatre for the Arts at Wesley Chapel and the music suite facility. ITEM NO. 2 ROLL CALL and Introduction of New Directors/Guests Congratulations to Mr. Joe Harrin, newly appointed band director at Central High School.
ITEM NO. 3 READING OF PREVIOUS MINUTES MOTION - Rutherford/L. Harvey To dispense with the reading of the previous minutes. PASSED ITEM NO. 4 TREASURER’S REPORT Chairman Henry reported that we have $7,086.81 in our account. Income (July 1 - November 20) - $11,348.01 Expenses (July 1 - November 20) - $4761.20 Gate receipts from MPA totaled $4715.00 (included in income amount) MOTION - Wickersheim/Rutherford To accept the treasurer’s report PASSED ITEM NO. 5 READING OF COMMUNICATIONS Several items were distributed to the membership
ITEM NO. 6 UNFINISHED BUSINESS All-State Auditions - Discussion about professional recording of auditions - Thank you to River Ridge Directors, parents and students FMEA Clinic/Conference - The chairman encouraged all to attend the Convention Mentoring program - You can be a mentor with ten years experience. Please call the chairman if you have questions regarding this program. ITEM NO. 7 COMMITTEE REPORTS None ITEM NO. 8 NEW BUSINESS Solo/Ensemble MPA/Jazz Ensemble MPA Date: February 8-9, 2002 Site: Central High School - Brooksville FESTIVAL scheduling disk due to district chairman by January 15. Update for the software is available on the FBA website DNA’s are due to the district chairman by January 22. Assessment forms and check must accompany entry disk Jazz ensemble will be scheduled by size of ensemble and by school level Concert Band MPA Dates: March 1-2, 2002 (HS) March 8-9, 2002 (MS) Site: Wesley Chapel HS (Both MS and HS) Scheduling according to order in which forms are received Programs will be provided by the host school CD’s will be made of each band’s performance by the Theatre for the Arts at Wesley Chapel FINES: $50.00 for submitting forms late (Payable to FBA District 5) $100.00 on the 8th calendar day after the deadline of January 15
