ITEM NO. 1 – CALL TO ORDER AND INTRODUCTORY REMARKS: The final meeting of the year was called to order by District Chairman, Christina Frye, at 6:04PM.

ITEM NO. 2 – ROLL CALL AND INTRODUCTION OF GUESTS AND INTERNS: Attendance was handled via a sign up sheet. Directors were asked to include their email addresses (if it has changed) on the sign in sheet.

ITEM NO. 3 – READING OF PREVIOUS MINUTES: There were no objections or changes. Lewis/Gansemer PASSED

ITEM NO. 4 – TREASURER’S REPORT: Current Status $11,163.32

Proposed budget for next year – same as this year. Mrs. Frye did remind the district there were still things that had not come out of the account yet.

ITEM NO. 5 – ANNOUNCEMENTS: None

ITEM NO. 6 – UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

As of this meeting NO adjudication forms have been filled out. Please complete them for adjudicators from Solo & Ensemble and Concert MPAs.
The district most vote on whether or not they want to continue having an auxiliary and percussion judge at Marching MPA. The motion was to continue to have the two judges Hope/Woodfin PASSED

ITEM NO. 7 – COMMITTEE REPORTS: None

ITEM NO. 8 – NEW BUSINESS: None

ITEM NO. 9 – SELECT ADJUDICATORS FOR NEXT YEAR: This has typically done by a committee in the past. Mr. Ken Norton, the upcoming chairman, will put this together.

ITEM NO. 10 – LETTERS FOR SITES FOR NEXT YEAR:

All-State Auditions - No letters were submitted for schools to host All-State auditions. K. Norton will recruit a school to host.
Marching – Letters were submitted from Chamberlain HS, Paul Gansemer Director and Bloomingdale HS, Ted Hope, Director. The district selected Bloomingdale HS to host Marching MPA on 11/2/02.
S & E – A letter was received from Sickles HS, Mark Watson, Director, to host Solo & Ensemble MPA on 2/14-15/03. Norton/Conte PASSED
Jazz – K. Norton presented a proposal to have the jazz portion of S & E held at the Florida State Fair Grounds. He has met with them and the conditions are very favorable, ($500 per band, compensation for FBA judges, lodging for judges, plaques for all bands participating, students get in fair free.) Ziegelhofer/Conte PASSED

T. Ziegelhofer asked that K. Norton please check on parking fee issues, bus parking and parent admission.

HS Concert – A letter was received from King HS, Cheri Sleeper, Director, to host HS MPA, (2^nd/3^rd Bands-3/7-8/03 and 1^st Bands-3/14-15/03. They will also host the Lion’s Club Pre-Festival on Sat., 3/1/03 Hope/Ziegelhofer PASSED
MS Concert - A letter was received from Robinson HS, Jennifer Hamilton, Director, to host MS MPA on 4/8-12/03.

Conte/Gansemer PASSED

ITEM NO. 11 – NOMINATIONS FOR THE ADJUDICATORS LIST: The following people were nominated to begin the adjudicator process:

Tom Ziegelhofer – nominated by Ted Hope PASSED

Tom Slaughter – nominated by Tom Ziegelhofer PASSED

Dana Burt – nominated by K. Norton PASSED

Cathy Rand – nomintated by N. Conte PASSED

C. Frye was reminded that those nominated at the last meeting have still not received packets.

ITEM NO. 12 – SUGGESTIONS TO COMMITTEES: None

ITEM NO. 13 – PROPOSALS TO THE EXECUTIVE BOARD: None

ITEM NO. 14 – CORRESPONDENCE: None

ITEM NO. 15 – GOOD OF THE ASSOCIATION:

C. Frye – Don’t forget the Summer Convention, (she will actually get to play golf this year,) July 11-13 @ Altamonte Springs Hilton, Orlando.

Teachers of the Year – Congratulations to Robert Griffin, Blake HS.

N. Conte – Thank you to Christina Frye for doing a GREAT job as chairman for the last 3 years.

P. Gansemer – Thank you to Cheri Sleeper, secretary, for the same.

ITEM NO. 16 – FIRST DISTRICT MEETING NEXT YEAR: August 10, 2002 @ Freedom HS, pending completion and approval, (Burns MS will be the back-up plan.)

ITEM NO. 17 – ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned at 6:52 PM. Gansemer/Conte PASSED
