DISTRICT 7 Hillsborough County, Florida 66th Year, No. 2 Saturday, October 27, 2001 Item #1-Call to order and introductory remarks Cheri Sleeper called the meeting to order at 10:20 a.m. at BLOOMINGDALE H.S.
Item #3-Reading of the previous minutes Motion Keen/Woodfin to dispense with the reading of the previous minutes Motion passed with a unanimous vote. Item #4-Treasurer’s report Current balance is $ 971.67 Item #5-Reading of Communications Reading of proposal of recording of concert festivals by Jeff Messing (Opus). The discussion was tabled until new business. Item #6-Unfinished Business Marching Band Assessment will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Bloomingdale H.S. Helen Michaelson spoke to middle school directors about helping with the assessment. Ted Hope discussed the finale with all the bands. The new classifications of bands was discussed. After much discussion of pro’s and con’s, the general consensus of the membership was to approve the new proposal. Item #7-Committee Reports No reports at this time Item #8-New Business Discussion on solo/ensemble and concert assessment. Assessment disks, money, and signed printouts are due at our 1/19/02 district meeting. A festival workshop will be held on 12/13/01 at Wilson M.S. at 5:00 p.m. More instructions will be sent out later.
Motion to untable recording proposal. Motion passed. Proposal was presented again and discussed. Motion Ziegelhofer/Horton moves to reject the proposal. Motion passes. Tom Ziegelhofer will coordinate H.S. recording. Ken Norton will coordinate M.S. recording. Item #11-Nominations for the Adjudicator’s List No one was nominated. Item #12-Suggestions for the Clinics Committee None Item #13-Proposals to the Executive Board No proposals. Item #14-Good of Association All County Jazz Band Nov. 10, 2001 Item #15- Next District Meeting Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002--10:00 a.m. Greco M.S. – or possibly a recreational place of some sort, if so, information will be forthcoming.
