Bernie Hendricks Jr.

Ocoee High
Band Director

Bernie Hendricks has been the Director of Bands at Ocoee High School since the school opened in 2005, and at Robinswood Middle School in Orlando for eight years before that. Mr. Hendricks is a Graduate of Florida A & M University, where he served as University Band President and percussion section leader of the Marching 100. He is a Past-President of the Florida Bandmasters Association and former FBA district secretary and treasurer. Mr. Hendricks has served FMEA as Chairman of the Multicultural Network and a member of the state executive board, the advocacy committee, and the awards committee. He is a recipient of the Sousa Foundation's Legion of Honor and a Semi-Finalist for the Grammy Music Educator Award. Mr. Hendricks is an active adjudicator and clinician throughout the state of Florida and has presented many professional development sessions at our state conference and in local schools and districts.
