Manatee Steel is the steel drum performance ensemble of Triangle Elementary School in Mt. Dora, Florida. The group s comprised of 24 young ladies and gentlemen selected through an audition process. In 2019, the group received for above expectations for all categories in the FMEA STeel Drum Festival. In May of 2019, they performed at the Music USA Festival at Universal Studios, Orlando

Edwin L. Anderson 

Triangle Elementary School
Music Specialist

Ed "Professor" Anderson is the music teacher for Triangle Elementary School in Mt. Dora, Fl. Mr. Anderson has been an active educator and clinician in steel drum education and capoeira. Ed has presented clinics and concerts at both the Florida Music Educators’ Association Annual State Conference and the Florida Music Educators’ Summer Music Institute. Ed currently holds the Rank of Monitor in Capoeira and serves as the manager and primary instructor of Mt. Dora Capoeira. His nonprofit organization, World Music Initiatives, is dedicated to the use of world music culture to be of help to today's youth. Monitor Professor has presented clinics about capoeira in education in Florida and Illinois.
