Jeff C. Henson
Hammond Elementary School
Music Teacher
Jeff Henson is a certified K-12 music educator who teaches at Hammond Elementary in Odessa, Florida and has been a public school music educator since 1998. He holds a B.A. degree in music from the University of South Florida and a Masters certification in Orff-Schulwerk under the instruction of Jane Frazee. In 2014, Jeff was named Hillsborough County’s Elementary Music Educator of the Year. He has been five-time director of the Honors Orff Ensemble for the Hillsborough County Elementary Fine Arts Festival, served as conductor for the Pasco County Honors Orff Ensemble, presented workshops and sessions for the Greater Tampa Bay Area Orff Chapter, Pasco County Schools, FMEA State Conference, and Radford University. He composes and arranges works for Orff instruments and ensembles and is the author of the books, Great Big House and Other Folk Songs, Rhymes Rhythms and Beyond, Instrument Magic, and several individual classroom Orff-Schulwerk resources published by Playground Music Press.
Jodie Donahoo
Bryant Elementary School
Music Specialist
Jodie Donahoo has been teaching elementary music for 20 years and currently teaches at Mary Bryant Elementary in Tampa. She has a bachelor's degree in music therapy from Florida State University and has been certified in early and middle childhood music by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards since 2004. She has had the honor of conducting the Hillsborough County Public Schools Honors Mallet Percussion Ensemble several times and in 2018 she was named Hillsborough County’s Music Educator of the Year. She also serves on the school district's Elementary Music Curriculum Planning Team and is a district trainer for H.O.T. Music!: Facilitating Higher Order Thinking in the Elementary Music Classroom. Mrs. Donahoo believes strongly in the power of incorporating student-led instruction into both ensemble rehearsals and general music lessons.
