Handout(s):
Maximizing the Music Handout

At the elementary level, we never seem to have enough time with our students. Therefore, it’s paramount that we find ways to maximize the time we do have so that our students can experience and learn as much music as possible. In this session, we will discover and experience ways to incorporate more musicality and music making into our daily teaching. Special attention will be paid to creating musical transitions, giving succinct instructions, reducing teacher talk, and using body language and gestures to communicate with our students. Participants will leave the session with fresh ideas, strengthened teaching strategies, and some new repertoire!
