As the choir and orchestra director at Brookside Middle School in Sarasota, Florida, I am seeking resources to help our students recover from the impact of Hurricane Helene. Many of our students, 54% of whom are from minority backgrounds, with 58% qualifying for free or reduced lunch, have been affected. Our most pressing need is for choral risers to use for in-class rehearsals. To ensure student success, these risers must be long enough to allow chairs to be placed on them during practice, providing proper arrangement and support.
Additionally, most students need assistance with purchasing concert attire, as many have been financially impacted by the hurricane. We are looking for 100 dresses, such as the "Denise" Sweetheart Neckline dress from Cousin's Concert Attire, priced at $62 each. Your support would significantly help our students continue their performances despite these setbacks.

School Supplies
Brookside Middle School is also seeking to purchase at least three 14 to 16-inch violas, each with a case, to repair/replace some of the lost or damaged instruments during the hurricane. Currently, we do not have any violas available, and these instruments would provide more opportunities for participation in our music program.
Finally, most of our students do not have access to personal computers, and the school lacks enough laptops for the music classrooms, which are essential for digital learning. We are aiming to secure a class set of 30 laptops to support student learning through technology-based instruction, including resources like MusicTheory.net, Music Tech Teacher, and MuseScore.
